What is SGA?
The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the official representative and chief advocate for the Student Body. SGA provides open forums for student issues and concerns to improve student life and provide leadership experience. The three branches of the Student Government Association serve students in a variety of ways. The Judicial Branch ensures that students’ rights are being protected, and to support students who are working through the conduct process. The Legislative Branch advocates for students’ needs by meeting with administrators, writing resolutions and legislation to express the concerns of the Student Body, as well as allocating money to student organizations within the Inter-Organizational Council (IOC). The mission of the Student Government Association is to provide experience in the democratic process; to encourage students to participate in all facets of the institution; to promote professionalism, efficiency, and ingenuity; and to promote and assist in the planning and implementation of student programs and activities.
