The legislative powers of the Student Government Association are vested in the Student Senate. The Legislative Branch is responsible for legislating on matters concerning students and student affairs, including university policy and community affairs. The Student Senate drafts bills and resolutions that govern SGA and all student organizations, and push for actionable change in university life.

The Legislative Branch

The bylaws of the Student Government Association (SGA) serve as the guiding framework for its operations, ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability. They outline the structure, roles, and responsibilities of the executive board, senators, and committees, as well as the processes for elections, meetings, and decision-making. Additionally, the bylaws establish protocols for addressing student concerns, managing funds, and enacting amendments to reflect the evolving needs of the student body. By adhering to these bylaws, the SGA upholds its mission to represent and advocate for the interests of all students effectively. Please click on the heading to view The Bylaws in their entirety.
