Taylor Chamberlain was born on October 5, 2003, in Memphis, Tennessee, as the eldest of three children to Kelly and William Chamberlain. Raised in Memphis, Taylor graduated from Middle College High School in 2022 and subsequently enrolled at Xavier University of Louisiana. Once on campus, she quickly found her passion for Public Health and developed a strong commitment to serving her peers and mentoring others.
Taylor's leadership journey began in the Spring of 2023 when she joined the Forward Amplifiers Internship, where she discovered her love for Student Government. Her dedication was recognized when she received the "Intern of the Year" award and was appointed as Special Assistant to the SGA President. In this role, Taylor played a direct part in implementing initiatives that positively impacted the student body.
In the Fall of 2023, Taylor was inducted into the Gamma Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., further solidifying her commitment to service and leadership. She also became an XU Leads instructor and a Public Health Pathways Mentor, roles that deepened her passion for mentorship and leadership development. By the Spring of 2024, Taylor was named the inaugural Chief Internship Officer, a position created to improve and expand the SGA internship program.
During the summer, Taylor served as a UC-HBCU Public Health Pathways Scholar, conducting research on postpartum depression in women of color and examining the effects of educational attainment on their experiences.
Looking ahead, Taylor plans to pursue a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. Her long-term goal is to manage a hospital, focusing on holding doctors accountable for how they treat people of color, while continuing to mentor and advocate for others throughout her career.
