Whereas, the Student Government Association President has the constitutional authority to create executive departments and committees to assist the executive officers in the administration of the executive branch;

Whereas, the 89th Miss Xavier University of Louisiana and the 10th Mister Xavier University of Louisiana wish to ensure that the Royal Court represents various student identities and demographics on campus;

Whereas, the Reimagined Administration wants to minimize the overlapping of events via types and dates while also encouraging adequate collaboration and communication efforts;

Whereas, a space for campus Misters/Misses will be created to discuss University issues that can be tackled through programming, to eliminate overlapping of events amongst student leaders, to build community amongst campus Misters/Misses, and to increase the overall presence of campus Misters/Misses;

Now, therefore, I, Chase Patterson, President of the Student Government Association at Xavier University of Louisiana, in accordance with the SGA Constitution, hereby issue the following directive to become effective immediately:

1) An Auxiliary Royal Court will be created as an extension of the traditional Royal Court that includes Mister and Miss Xavier, the 4 class Misters, and the 4 class Misses, and will operate as follows:

  • There will be a Mister/Miss 1925, a Mister/Miss Gold Rush, a Mister/Miss STEM, and a Mister/Miss Humanities.

  • Mister/Miss 1925 serve as the chairs of the Auxiliary Court and are not required to produce programming. They will assist in the planning of traditional programing. (ie. XU

    Girls Rock, Men of Xavier Week, etc.)

  • Mister/Miss Gold Rush must create two forms of

    programming per semester that caters to student athletes’

    needs.

  • Mister/Miss STEM must create two forms of

    programming per semester that caters to students

    majoring in STEM fields.

  • Mister/Miss Humanities must create two forms of

    programming per semester that caters to students

    majoring in Humanities.

    2)  TheRoyal Council as a branch of the Royal Court will be created

    and will operate as follows:

    • This body will be led by Mister and Miss Xavier and all

      campus Misters/Misses will serve as members of the

      Royal Council.

    • This body will meet monthly, and all campus

      Misters/Misses will be responsible for producing one

      collaborative event per semester.

  • 3)  To ensure that the Auxiliary Royal Court and the Royal Council

    are properly structured in perpetuity, this executive order shall permanently remain in effect and in full force unless it is modified, amended, rescinded, or superseded by the SGA President, which must be done by an Executive Order.
